Thank You for Your Interest

The project originates from standardized institutional response letters received in connection with applications to exhibitions, grants, and open calls, both nationally and internationally. The title is taken from a formal closing phrase that usually marks the end of a dialogue. In this project, it functions as a beginning.
The work examines the application and its response as a recurring structure within the art field. The focus is not the content of each individual letter, but the event itself: that a response takes place. Each response received—regardless of outcome—triggers a concrete action and generates a new work. Production continues where language concludes.
The project consists of three interwoven components: Register, Archive, and Response.
Register
Register (2025–) is an ongoing overpainted painting based on a previously rejected work. For each response received, a single manual mark is drawn on the surface. Over time, the gestures accumulate and form a dense, rhythmic structure. No visual distinction is made between acceptance and rejection. The work functions as a continuous material record.
Archive
Archive consists of works in postcard format, numbered and dated chronologically. Each card corresponds to a received response. The installation can be organized as a strict grid or as a horizontal line extending along the walls of the space. In larger rooms, the archive may form a continuous sequence that follows the architecture, making visible the quantity and repetition of responses. Language fragments appear in Norwegian, English, and Lithuanian, reflecting the project’s application geography.
